Breakfast on Plaza Doctor Arce
The square wakes before the town does. It is the best hour, and almost nobody knows it.
At nine in the morning Plaza Doctor Arce is in shade, the orange trees smell of orange trees, and you can hear the fountain. By eleven it is another place: people, prams, conversation. Both hours are good, but they are different, and it is worth choosing.
What there is for breakfast
Organic Italian-roast coffee — espresso, cappuccino, or a carajillo if the day calls for it. Orange juice squeezed to order, in two sizes. Cornetto, homemade crêpes, cake of the day. And since this summer, the lighter end too: salmon, avocado, muesli, more honest pastry. Ask what there is today, because it changes.
Until when
Breakfast runs until 13:00. After that the kitchen changes shift and the cucina del sud begins, from 13:00 to 15:00. Coffee, on the other hand, never stops: it is there from morning to night, along with the panini and the gelato.
Where exactly
On Plaza Doctor Arce, in Estepona's old town, a two-minute walk from the beach and from the pedestrian axis of Plaza de las Flores. A terrace by the fountain — the same one since 1999 — and a room inside for the days when the levante blows.
No booking
We do not take reservations: first come, first served, from morning to night. In the morning you will almost never have to wait. Dogs are welcome on the terrace.
